Right now my guys are 7 weeks old and 200/238 grams as of this morning. They eat between 12-15cc's 4 times a day, and are nibbling away on HHB's. Weight gain per day is anywhere from 8-12 grams, but the thing is I have no clue how much weight gain I should be seeing.

What do you guys with experience usually feel is good weight gain per day or per week from 7 weeks on?? I do follow the 5-7% feeding rule but I am looking for a tangible guide to what I should be expecting as far as growth:)

Sounds pretty normal to me.
The gain will slowly taper off as they age.
They're just happy, healthy squirrels.

Thank you Skul I have read some sites where they say an ounce a week till 8 weeks is normal and mine are gaining more than that, but no info after 8 weeks:thinking I just wanted to make sure it sounded normal to you guys here because this is all new to me:D

I think that after 8 weeks, it's difficult to get a weight on one of these little peanuts they're so squirmy....:D
I just weighed one of Island Rehabber's babies who just turned ~ 8 weeks, and Lena weighed in at 298 grams....(she loves her baba).

They're fine. IMO, better to have a good weight gain than too little.
You'll probably see a lesser gain as they wean.
Now, go feed the squirrels. :D :poke

Ahahahaha no feeding till 6 their on a strict schedule don't want them too tubby. They were so emaciated when we got them 2 weeks ago weighing less than 100 grams, but have really started chunking up this past week:D And OMG weighing is becoming so much fun even using a container to hold them getting them in is a PITA, but otherwise they fly right off. Glad all this normal, lol:thankyou

Nothing wrong with pudge-bombs.
Put a lid on the container.
Slows 'em down on the big escape.

Skul I use a lid, lol they are out by the time I am trying to snap it on:nono very naughty about getting weighed these days. I am afraid to take a toe off so with all their moving and craziness their weights aren't as accurate as they were. I try to burrito and stuff them in and get the lid on....yeah the male especially is just not having it. The female I can trick with food:D
