Neither one because of the steroids I am afraid. Any chance the vet would call in a scrip for Prednisone?

Prednisone is a steroid. Don't know Lily or her condition so I can't give you any advice. Ibuprofen (motrin) is contra-indicated with Prednisone.

She has had an injection of steroid so that is why she can't have the Metacam or Motrin

Post the strength etc and I will direct the experts here. I really don't know whether this is possible or not. Prayers going up for Lily!:grouphug

When did she have her injection/shot?
When Jeffrey fell, he had a shot of pred. and then my vet gave me 5 days worth to continue giving him orally.
Did your vet say anything about giving anything orally?
Not sure I would fool around with this, until you talk with your vet.

Sometimes these shots take a couple of days to work. I had a robin that needed either dex or pred. (this was quite a few years ago and I forgot which it was). My vet said if on day 5 she was no better than it wasn't going to work. Sure enough, day 5...she stood.

I was thinking about it also - Im not sure what kind of steriod shot he gave her - and he did not mention giving her anything else - I am just afraid he will want to put her down tuesday - I want to give her a chance but I don't want her to suffer either - I just hate seeing her this way - I just feel so helpless
Thank you

Did the vet bill you for the shot he gave her? If so, look at the bill, if he charged you for it, I would think that it is spelled out on the bill.

He did bill me - it was dexameth injection 0.5 baytril/0.1 sp sq - it was $20
that is what the bill says

I had not even looked at it til now
