Hey could everyone tell me how much it cost for you to build your release cage? How big it was? Where you got yor supplies?

The wire will be your biggest cost. My cages are pretty big and although I never added it up, I would say it was probably somewhere in the $300+ range (I did two of them at about the same cost each). I bought all my supplies at Lowe's and Home Depot. I'd love to build another, bigger one out back....maybe next year.

This is my inside cage. It is 10 ft. x 3 ft. x 6 ft, with double entry doors. The one outside has two 'cages' but it is about 17 feet long.

Here is the info about my release cage.

Front and back are 5' 8 3/4" wide x 6' tall. The roof and base of the RC are 3" wider than the front and back (the cage sits down in the frame of the floor and the roof sits down over the top). So the total width would be 5' 11 3/4".
Both sides are 8' wide x 6' tall. Again the roof and base add 3" to the width, so the total width is 8' 3".
If you are trying to determine the square footage of the living space for squirrels, go with the smaller numbers listed above for the widths.
Both of the human doors are 22 1/2" wide x 65 3/4" tall.
The outermost human door opens out and the inner door can go whichever way you would like it to go.
The Squirrel Free Chamber is 28 1/2" wide x 36 3/4" deep.
The Food Door is 11" tall x 19 1/2" wide.
The shelf on the inside of the cage (this is where I set the food) is 35" wide x 28 1/2" deep.
It is constructed out of Non-Pressure Treated 2x3's (there may be a piece or two here or there that is a 2x4), but 99% of the cage is made out of 2x3's. The entire cage, top, bottom, both sides, and the shelf are covered with 1/2" hardware cloth.
The portal circle is 2 1/4" in diameter, with a handy little door that doubles as a ledge/shelf after it is opened. We found it was easier for them to get in and out if the door acted as a little shelf.I spent $400.00 +/- for everything...wood/screws/hinges/hooks & eye's/hardware cloth/staples
