Sassy,
I don't know how to post video either and I definitely don't know what's wrong. I was wondering.. do her eyes look normal? Rapid eye movement is a sign of vertigo. How long have you had her? Did you check her ears? :dono

If it's a head tilt could indicate one of many issues, an ear infection, vision issue (tilting head to see better or out of a good eye) or a neuro issue.

Do you have access to vet to evaluate and maybe rule a few of those out?
Some rehabbers I know will try treating for an ear infection first,
to hopefully resolve if it's an ear infection, then do a vet eval if not.
Was she a baby that was a nest or tree fall by any chance?
Sometimes problems don't become apparent at first.
I have a few NR's my vet deemed head trauma but never had
outward signs and it was certain behaviors that led to the diagnosis.

That video looks like that baby's neck is more "stuck" than neuro to me. I am not an expert by any means, just an observer. :grouphug Little One:grouphug

So what can I do for her right now?
I don't know if I can get in to see the vet tomorrow - I will call first thing in the morning
I don't know if they fell from the nest - but they both have been completely normally until now
I don't think it is her ears - What do I look for?

Just another opinion. I have a red squirrel that does a similar thing. What happened to him was that he ran into a car! For the longest time he would run around with his head tilted to one side like this baby. What I have been able to figure out is that he is blind in one eye. So I just thinking:thinking is she bind in one eye?:dono

i have no idea robin..
as others are sharing, have seen each issue they are posting about, cannot put my finger on anything definative.
are her back feet splayed or curled?
until you can eleminate a few of the possibilities, i would use scads of rescue remedy..
use it in her environment, syringe her some water with a few drops, put it on her ears and paws..
keep syrup or molasses close by just in case she does seize, do you have valium or bendryl/sedative?
suppliment her with a heat source if she is seperated
or put her back with her snuggley sibs..
you can ck for blindness fairly easy..
:grouphug gosh i hate this:grouphug

I seperated them a couple days after I got them - they were suckling each other - I was going to put them together this evening - in a small cage they could climb - but this happened before I could do that - so they are still in seperate plastic containers on heat
Do you think it would be ok to put them together in the small cage - or leave her alone until I know what is going on with her?
It just looks so sad - breaks my heart to watch her like this
Her feet are not curled - she is normal - except for the neck thing - I can't tell if something is wrong with her front leg - or is just her neck - but other than that everything normal - eating peeing and pooping
I have benedryl - what will this do for her? how much can I give her?
Can I give her some infant motrin? if there is swelling - wouldn't that help?

I really don't think she is blind - to me it looks like her neck is stuck that way - that is the best way I can describe it - poor little girl - I feel so sorry for her

Can you look in the ear?? I had a rat baby that I found one morning doing that and low and behold it was a piece of bedding embedded in his ear of all weird things. Ear infection or neurologic disorders are a possibility but check that ear out maybe she has an invader in there:)

:morning Hi Sassy
I have seen this in 5 of my Adult Squirrels out side.
Last year the Drought was so bad the Squirrels were Fighting and Throwing The Tress Passing Squirrels out of their Trees.
The Worst one I called Tilly. She Fell 50 to 60 feet. I found her in my yard laying on her side. (Thinking she was Dead.) I reached down to pick her up. She jumped & then She was moving in circles with her head tilted worse than your Baby. :shakehead
She would run tight circles moving to Large circles until she finally made it to me for the Food I was feeding. She eventually got better with her handicap, But she always Kept the Head tilting up to the sky. (She could see out of both her eyes.)
She and 3 other tilted Squirrels are still around today. (I think it had something to do with Pinched Nerve. Something at the neck and head.) I would not give anything to her Medicine wise. I would get her in to see the Vet to have Ex-Rays!! :thumbsup3 Prayers coming your way.

Agree w/Mrs. Skul, looks to be pinched nerve or something along those lines. Do you have vet access?
Jackie in Tampa

I wish I could help more myself...
just don't understand how this could be a pinched nerve,
she's a baby in a sterlite...like how is she supposed to have gotten this pinched nerve???????:thinking
UNLESS, muscles are tweaked from seizure...
how else?:dono
yes, seizures can show up much after the injury..even months...
when we get these babies, there is usually not alot of history...
so we gotta guess..
my speculated guess is she had a seizure and her vision has been affected..she may have had a mild concussion, or a hemorrage or stroke after the seizure..
she may have more seizures, or never again.
What a vet can do is an Xray...then what?
if her rear feet aren't curled, there is a chance she can overcome this..
however, it would mean meds..
I know, JIT is a bloody drug pusher..
I have dug alot of holes and will never sit on my hands and watch a baby go down hill because no one knows what to do or tell me..
a long road has lead me to believe in meds.
years ago, I would have never given chemicals to a baby sq..
now that I have seen some stuff, I have accepted that medicine is healing..it has power.
sitting and watching will not make change.
Most vets will not know what is wrong anyways..
does she have feeling in all feet?
if the toes were curled we would know there is permanent brain damage..so with that I say give her an anti inflammatory of your choice and hope that in the next 5 days she improves..
if she is circling, ck her vision first..
that head tilt,.... again, can mean a number of things.
I would love to see a different video.
I have a few sqs here with permanent head tilt...they are all keepers.

I will get another video but someone will have to post it for me again - I will do it this afternoon
She uses her back legs - her back feet will curl to grab (to me like normal) - but then they go back to normal - she uses her front feet also - she holds the syringe to feed and works them while eating - she does seem to have feeling in all 4 legs/feet
It would not hurt to give her infant motrin - Would it? If I can, how much can I give her
Thank you everyone - she just looks so sad moving like this - it just breaks my heart

Doesn't take much to get a pinched nerve, even moving from one position to another and babies squirm quite a bit. Not really sure what to think.

Do you have a vet that will prescribe antibiotics for an ear infection?? I doubt they'd have an otoscope that small but trying to deduce what it is and isn't makes sense and a course of antibiotics could confirm or rule out inner ear infection within 2-3 days probably:)

yes I thought of that too do you have any Ab's? I had one that did the same thing a couple of times and it was ear infection.. smell the ears.. do they smell at all and how much.. Sassy you can call me if you like..

She is still doing the same - she is healthy otherwise - she gets to where she wants to go - and she snuggles up with the other 2 babies

:wave123 Hi Sassy
She is Looking good. She Looks Just Like Tilly. It is all so Possible to have a Busted Ear drum! :shakehead But I think it is a Nerve problem.
When is your Vet appointment? If she stays like this she can still live a Normal Life. After Tilly got use to looking up with one eye and sideways with the other.
She Learned how to fix her head to work thing out. I am Sure we can find her a wonderful home if she needs one.:thumbsup3
Hang in their. :grouphug
PS
How is your Little Peanut Pinky Flyer doing?

I have not taken her to the vet yet - I was going to wait and see if she got better - and really didn't think the vet could be able to tell me anything anyway - I have named her Rosie
The little flyer is still hanging in there - I have named him Duke - and he is growing fast - really fast
As far as finding Rosie a forever home - I have someone in mind - you may guess who - I have not asked them yet so dont know - but I will do my very best to find her a good home - she is a sweetie and really loves to loved on
Gotta go and feed the babies
