May be a silly question but i never raised a pinkie or any other squirrel. I'm just noticing my new little man's one eye is a little bigeer then the other he is onlyat the most 2 1/2 wks old. I think i didnt notice b4 cuz he was pink & now he's getting color to him so you can see it. Just wondering if this is normal or something i should watch & be concerned about.:dono

Can you take a pic and e-mail it to me so I can post it for you? You may or may not have pic posting abilities yet...not sure.

My e-mail address is milosmom041610@gmail.com.

I also responded in your other thread.

Was first only worried about the eye but this morning, woke up to bruising on his back around his abdomen. He was found on a playground so don't know if he was dropped by a bird or could have been been stepped on by a small child. Up to now he had no marks on him but a few splinters when we first got him. He still seems perky to eat then back to sleep as normal:) Any help you can give I would greatly appreciate, as i've already fallen in love w/the little guy!!! can i send you an e-mail with pics & video? wont let me attach to big. Just let me know where to send thanks.

research
you can start with proptosis
hyperthyroid syptoms
ocular hypertension

sometimes there is a tumor in the eyeball or BEHIND it..
sometimes it is simple birth defect..

keeping him healthy healthy and careful monitoring..
I would take pics everyday to chronical changes

bruising on back is much better than bruising on belly..
would indicate a pressure wound, not blood pooling...
so would appear to be NOT internal injury.
Not meaning he is out of the woods and okay, but would indicate not as bad as internal injury, a pic woul;d help.
thinking ibuprophen for pain and keeping him warm and hydrated a must.
are all limb working?

metacam Rx /meloxicam or OTC ibuprofen suggested for bruising/swelling.
someone will help dose childrens or infants ibuprofen for you.

The eye...???
I am guessing time will tell more.

Yes all his limbs work fine he's quite a strong little guy after every feeding he loves to climb up my chest & nestle himself in my neck & shoulder:) It's so sweet he's just started doing that the last 2 -3 days it's become his favorite spot after eating. can anyone help me with dosing pain med for him i do have infant drops as i have g-kids!!! not sure of his weight, I will have my husband bring home a scale 2day.:thankyou for all your help!!

In order to dose meds, we really need a weight. I, personally will not dose without a weight...just not comfortable with it. Others here may take an educated guess due to their level/years of experience.

I can dose the INFANT MOTRIN for you if you have a weight.

What makes you think he is in pain and needs pain meds?

Someone just suggested that for bruising & swelling. He doesn't seem to be in any pain. Searching the forum I've found some other squirrels that had the same issue some say put warm compresses on his eye or tea bags (wet) to see if any puss comes out. I'll keep you posted. So far he is doing fine & acting like a hungry little boy with lots of energy till he gets his belly full:D lol.....
