View Full Version : HElP! I need to find a refuge for my baby squirrel in the Montreal area!

I found a baby squirrel last friday and I have been taking care of her since then. She is between 3 to 4 weeks of age. I have hydrated her and I started giving her formula every 3 hours or so. She is doing good, eats well and goes to the bathroom regularly. The problem is that I start school soon so I will not have as much time to take care of her.

Does anyone know someone who takes care of baby squirrels in the Montreal (Quebec) area? I live in the West Island (Pointe-Claire). I called a place last week but they said they couldin't do anything so I decided to take care of it myself. Please help!

The only place I know of is for injured birds and it is in Hudson, not too far from you, but they probably know where you could take a squirrel, the website is http://lenichoir.org/... try and call them and see if they can help.

You are talking about Le Nichoir. Until I moved it was my number they used to give out. :)

Yes Le Nichoir! I used to volunteer there when I was 13, almost 20 years ago now haha... right when it had just opened. I would think they would have a new contact?

Thanks everyone for the info! All the places I called told me to contact the Urban Animals Advocates but when I called them they told me that they could not do anything for her and to pretty much leave her outside and just let her die. Of course I couldin't do that! So I finally found a lady that lives near me who has a lot of experience with baby squirrels, she is going to pick my baby up tommorow night! :)
