feeding/wont eat

i have a little brown squirrel about 8 weeks give or take a week but she wont eat all day she will nibble a bit on an apple or carrot but she wont eat untill it gets dark then she acts frantic for formula and drinks 48 ccs and she plays in the evening as well and only ventures out of her blanket when i get her out during the day but at night she but she mostly sleeps during the day. squirrels are not nocturnal so i dont understand why she is doing this

Wait, I think you have something wrong here....your squirrel would have to weigh around 900 grams to be able to eat 48 cc's of formula.:D
Are we talking about a grey squirrel? Can you post a picture?

Looks like an adorable fox squirrel to me!
they can be 900 grams, or 2+ pounds....
I have had 10-11wk old greys who sucked down 30cc and they were less than 1lb in weight, so this is possible.....remember they make 'em chunkier up North :rotfl

OMG she is adorable......I don't think she is close to 900 grams though, did you weigh her? She is a great eater if she takes 48 cc's of formula. What else does she eat?

(You know Maura, you're right about the 30 cc's of formula. I always feed with 1 cc syringes, I remember preloading them for Magenta's Babies.....and saying to myself, when I get up to 100 syringes....I switch to 3 cc syringes....:rotfl and I had to switch because....they turned into little piggies....:D AND I had too many syringes to wash.:tilt )

i weighed her a week ago and she was 6 ounces she is probably about 7 or 8 now those pics make her look bigger than she is. idk whats up with her she seems fine but acts nocturnal and eats alot but will only eat it once a day. she eats carrots greens and strawberries and bananas and apples but i only give her little bits of fruit and she eats rodent blocks. but when she sucks down all that formula she gets a really big belly cuddles up with me and goes to sleep. she is a great little squirrel and she is very attached to me but i got her when she was furless and her eyes were closed =)
