Hi all I am new here....

My son last week found a small baby squirrel on the sidewalk. No trees around, so I don't think he fell. My guess is the nasty hawk nabbed him/her and when he settled on the sidewalk for the snack he was scared away. I am estimating 6 weeks old now. Eyes were closed when we got him, they opened 2 days later. He was really small for what everyone says a 5-6 week old should weigh. I have been able to put a little weight on him. The last few feedings, he has grabbed the syringe and just sucked so hard that before I could pull it away he was blowing bubbles. Turned him upside down blotted the nose etc... He has no clicking noises but is sneezing every once in a while. I have some fox valley on the way 20/50 I think is what I ordered with some new syringes and nipples. His stool is a little runny though... should I try to goat milk replacement recipe? I have been feeding him the GNC ultra mega goat milk puppy replacement formula since I read some not good things on the Esbilac. I have a friend who rehabs wildlife, but amazingly enough never a sq ?!?!?! Is there anything else I should look for regarding pneumonia other than the clicking??? I am not hearing clicking, but the lil guy just isnt acting right. Any suggestions for the loose stool as well? Or will the goat mile replacement formula help with this problem.

And are they all this shaky at this age? I feel like I am watching a 10 month old take his first steps :)

Please help this lil guy is amazing - I want to make sure I am giving him the best care possible...

I am also estimating his age by fur and his tail is curling up now (sooo cute) on his back when he sits up.

Welcome! Thank-you for helping this little one! The goats milk is the best thing until the FV arrives. They need something other than the puppy formulas fr sure. I am sure the experts will be along soon, but until then, do you have a weight on him? Is he on heat?

Yes he is on heat on half the cage. He is 60 grams so far. I am going to start by feeding him a little more often and see if that helps with the weight and switch to the goat replacement recipe. In reading the different posts I see it is not always cut and dried as far as feeding times go. So I'm going to increase the interval and the amount and watch the belly so he's not getting too full.

I take him to work with me I am thinking that he was really unhappy with the size of the cage I put him in as it was much smaller. He was discontent in it. As soon as we got home he curled up in his bed and set off to snoozing peaceful as usual.
