I am in south tampa near the air force base.
Wow, I just googled emergency vets in tampa,
seems there are many more these days...
all over Tampa.

Most clinics will euthanize an injured wild unless he is with a rehabber or the finder pays.
I will be here all day and am willing to look at him and treat him if I can.
I have a vet appointment set up already for tomorrow also.

I Live in Lutz. The Squirrel really has no name. I call her Baby she was found two weeks before christmas and opened her eyes christmas day. She lives outside during the day in our trees and comes down at night to come in to her safe night time bed. I know it's dangers in the day with hawks but I want her to be happy and free. she does what she wants. She picked a mated July 19. Last Thursday when I got home she came down from her tree very slowly I know something was wrong. she was limping on her right left foot. No wounds I thought it was her hip but last night she scratch with it. She is using the bathroom, drinking, and laying down and eating. I'm help with the water and lay the food by her. I think she fell from tree into the shrubs below. I think she is hurt internaly lower stomach but not sure. She's in a lot of pain if she moves. last night at 11 started ibuprofen infant a sm drop only. I'm guess her weight at 1lb the box is for 12lb 1.25ml. Friday I talked with a lady in lutz with squirrels but her vet next to the breakfast nook. does not set hips she said. At the time I thought it was her hip. I need a Vet who really know Squirrels. I made app with East/west vet at 3: 30. Will keep you posted .

Sad to say but my baby died. She was 8 months old. It was not her hip. Something happen inside of her. Heart broken in Tampa The only good news is she died in my arms and not alone.

I'm so sorry to hear that :( At least you know you did all you could to help the little girl, and you let her enjoy the time she had here like a squirrel should.
