I'm trying to rehydrate this baby and it has been a while and I don't want to do anything wrong. I have been giving him pedialyte which he seems to not be able to get enough of. I have tried to stimulate him but have had no results as of yet. I do not want to over hydrate him and am worried because he has not urinated. My first baby was a bit older and already going on his own when I got him. How much pedialyte should I be giving him and what about the stimulation? I am assuming he is much drier than I originally anticipated and may take a while? It is quite clear that he is" bothered" by me when I try to stimulate him because he is quite vocal and curls into a fetal position. Any help would be great, I'm quite nervous with him being so wee. There is a picture of him in the introduce yourself section and I am guessing his age to be around 5 weeks, but not for sure.

:thankyou for saving this baby! The experts will be around soon! I know many people use a wet? cotton ball to help stimulate.

Hi there
How old is your baby and how long have you had him?? Sometimes it takes awhile, you have him on a heating pad on low under his container right??
you warmed the pedialyte right??

I've tried the cotton ball both wet and dry- no luck. I guess he is around 5 weeks but not for sure. I have only had him for a few hours. He has a heating pad under his container and the pedialyte has been warmed. There is a picture of him under the introduce yourself section for a better idea of his age :)

what a cutie.......... give him some time, if he is dehydrated it may take a while to pee. When I had trouble, I took a kleenex and just barely tickled the little pee parts , worked like a charm, some times very light tickle works better than a hard rub :D
what goes in will come out give him some time.

Initially when I first quickly examined him I didn't think it was but upon closer examination it appears to be tenting a bit. Should I just keep pushing the fluids as much as he will take and continue to try to stimulate until he goes? I am just afraid of giving him too much and he not voiding!

OK lets start with how much does he weigh? do you have a gram scale?
Give him about 2cc's every couple of hours and stimulate him before and after each time just for now.
