Personally at that age I feed them every 3 hours, round the clock. I know... tough, but on the other hand they grow so fast... and it's one of the best times you can share with them :D The goat's milk formula is the easiest one to digest at that age. Later on you can transition him/her to the Forx Valley. I do hope youj're not using Esbilac - people have been having problems with it since they changed their formulation, some babies develop very bad diarrhea.

I would leave out the heavy cream at first until you can be sure he's digesting it well... and then I'd gradually add it until full strength.

HOMEMADE FORMULA – GOAT’S MILK

1 cup Goats milk
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup Dannon all natural vanilla yogurt (Not light)
Mix well and keep in a plastic or glass container in refrigerator. Lasts 48 hours in refrigerator.
Warm formula to feed. Only takes a few seconds in the microwave. Be careful not to overheat will curdle the yogurt.

I do the same until they are 3 weeks old....feed at midnight, then 3 or 4am, then 7am regular time. Once I drop the overnight feeding I will push up the first morning feeding to 5:30 or 6am, so they don't go so long in between.

:Squirrel I've been giving her the goats milk formula. I ordered the fox valley and hopefully it will be here today. The lady i ordered the fv from (Chris's from Chris's squirrel's and more) says said that I should mix the FV with the ESBILAC. But I've read on here that its not good for wildlife. I'm not gonna use it.Also when I do get the F.V should I wean her off the goats milk? If so. can someone please enplane to me how I proceed with it? also Chris said the goats milk formula can cause Metabolic Bone Disease. Im not arguing with you guys or any thing i just wanted to let you know what I heard. Also can someone tell me the symptoms of Metabolic Bone Disease.:thankyou :Squirrel

To change from Goat's milk to FV, here is what I do. Mix no more than 1 tablespoon of FV formula mix. Add 3/4 goat's milk volume to 1/4 part FV volume and feed for 24 hours. Then if all goes well, reduce the goat's milk by 1/4 volume every 24 hours until they are just on the FV.
As for the Goat's milk formula causing MBD, I have never had a baby with MBD and only had Goat's milk to use for many, many years. Babies will wean at 3-4 months old and will not want formula (except the very few who want it as a treat). MBD , in my experience, in a disease of adult and sub-adult (over wintered, long caged) squirrels who have been incorrectly fed. In other words, not fed good quality and a broad variety of fresh vegetables, with fruits and nuts used as treats and not a large part of their diet. Daily sunlight exposure is also needed.
At one time there were commercials on TV expounding certain foods for us to feed our children to help them develop strong teeth and bones. Our squirrels need the same good building blocks of nutrition for them to also grow strong and to maintain good health.
There is an excellent healthy squirrel diet listed in the nutrition section. A great deal of thought and hard work has gone into the research of this diet. Many different foods and plants are listed that are good for squirrels to eat.
The right combination of vegetables, grains(seeds and nuts), and fruits should provide the correct amounts of minerals and vitamins. Supplements can be added as insurance that all the good body building blocks are included-at least 20 minutes of sunlight daily provides needed vitamin D.
Read through all the different areas listed on the board (there is even a large amount of information on MBD) and you should find everything to provide an excellent future for all your squirrels.
