just curious if any of your squirrels make this piggie noise. It really does sound like a little pigglet! Like a closed mouth grumbling. I wonder what it means, Jack seems to do it when walks around me. My lil Jacky girl has the personality of a puppy...always basically on top of me chasing me from room to room and weaving between my feet. She also chews on anything she can get her squirrely little hands on! she is totally my lil pigglet between the noises and her trying to eat everything.

Absolutely !!!
My Little CRUISER GRUNTS every day...especially when I wake him and he is in his Nest Box...
I say "Come On Out"
and Cruiser says: "Grunt...Grunt...Snort...Snort... "
Some talk their heads off and make a lot of different sounds, tone changes. I love it when they purr!:grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :Love_Icon :Love_Icon :grouphug :grouphug

LoL! My Spicey makes the same noises and I also call them "little piggy-noises" or purring. I think it is similar to a cat's purr. Spice only does it for me and does it the most when she wakes in the morning and when I get home from work. I like to think it means "I love you! I'm so happy to see you!" and "Because I love you, you should give me a treat!" :Love_Icon
Not to be confused with the similar "mad piggy-grunt" which is usually accompanied by "teeth chattering". This means "If you come any closer, I will bite you"!
