I've had Sweet Thing for about 2.5 weeks. Got her from a neighbor ....long story....she seems to be doing well. Drinking well, eating soft foods...her top teeth are coming in and look good, but her lower teeth are to long. I've seen posts on tooth trimming... Think it could be needed so she will eat HHBs and harder food... Help please. Not sure what to do.
Thanks for all the info you all provide. You've all really helped her so much!

Ah Ha! Just found the info. Think she'll let me file them. After eating I always groom ..clean her up... She lets me do just about anything. Will try tomorrowand let you kno how we do!

Just finished bottom teeth....she just started eating hhb! Think she's about 6 weeks....top teeth are coming in...tail up and running all over. Think I didn't get her started on harder foods early enough. I will try to get some pictures uploaded. She was great about the teeth. Didn't seem to mind at all, but hope she will chew them down from now on.

In general, 6 week old sqs do not need thier teeth trimmed.
Lower incisors are long, uppers are short.
This pic is an older sq, but these are normal teeth.

Her lowers were almost twice that legnth. Since I trimmed them she is eating much better. Even got her to start chewing on an apple stick for the first time. Hoping for the best.

in some cases, lowers have punctured the upper plate causing infection..
glad this was not the case.
Can you post pics of her teeth now, after the trimming?
