Good morning!
I have a 3 years old little flying squirrel girl who unfortunately after I had my daughter hasn't gotten to be played with a whole lot lately. I am looking for a good home for her. She is still sweet, I just don't spend time with her and I know I am doing her an injustice in keeping her when I don't play with her. She is still sweet, but just is playing wise is neglected.
I live in Southern Alabama and would be willing to travel to meet anyone interested.
I know with me having kept her for 3 years inside I would like to look to adoption rather than releasing her.

If you are interested I would love for you to meet my Cera girl.
Where in Alabama will you be traveling to? I will be glad to meet you somewhere. I have a cage that can travel, its probably 3 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet that can go with her. Also have probably a TON of hanging fleece cage accessories, perches, baskets, etc if you are interested.
Do yours live indoors?

I will be in the Auburn area next to Auburn university...I am not sure how far that is from you...I have two female flyers about 2-3 years old i rescued both when they were more than a year old.....They do live indoors here is a picture of their cage I posted it in this thread http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30391&highlight=lexi

I would definitely be interested in the accessories as well if I took her in since I run out easily with wear and tear....Let me know if you have anymore question I would be glad to answer them

could you tell me more about her....can you handle her like take her out her cage and love on her? if not its no big deal but would like to know :)
how did she come into your life? what are her favorite things?etc

to tell you a little about mine I rescued my first one from a person who was going away for college....she was left alone in a 2 x 2 was never touched for her whole first year of life...and was fed hamster food...so basically she was not tame at all....BUT i have been working with her for more than a year and now I am able to pet her and she comes to me on "command" lol I do a clicking noise and she knows its snack time this is lexi's story

Lexus story my other flyer has a similar story a lady had her and no longer wanted her...she had her in a travel cage for the first year of life and was not handle at all and was feed hamster food....I decided to rescue her because I knew she need rescuing and would be a great companion for lexi...she to was not tame but was over a year old....I have been working with them since then and have gained progress :) it takes a lot of patience to gain a "wild" adults trust but that one second of a break through is worth it:) ...so thats how I came to have both lexi and lexus

I typed two long replies and my wonderful ipad kept shutting down all of a sudden and erasing it all.
One more time :)
Yes you can love on her, but its on her terms. But I'm thinking most animals are like that. She is not exactly the happiest squirrel when woken up, but then I'm not either, so I forgive her. But if she is awake she will pounce the second I walk in her room.
She loves to play in side my shirt and hide nuts in my clothes. I use to be able to scratch her cheek area and she would roll her head to the side so I could scratch her neck even a little, but I haven't done that in a while. I don't know if she would even let me anymore.
Only hard part, may be that I give her free roam of an entire bedroom. She sleeps in a pillow that I opened a side for her to be able to crawl into. But she is not afraid of her cage, though, if that helps. I feed her in her cage and she goes in there to drink water also. So she is okay with her cage, just I don't make her sleep in it.
She gets fresh fruits and veggies a few times a week. I keep a staple of pecans and various seed mixes in her cage just as back ups too. I try to give her a flower when I see one blooming in our yard and an occassional new branch to chew on also. I keep a huge tree limb in her cage for her to crawl on as well.
Food wise, her favorites are: apple, pear, sweet potato, and of course nuts. Well any kind of fruit really she loves. She gets squash and zuchinni but doesn't love them. She normally eats them last.
But all this sounds like a perfect squirrel, but again if she is awake and chooses to get on me we have the best time, but its kinda her choice. if she doesn't want to get on me, then I can't go necessarily pick her up. Sometimes I can coax her to me. If I put my hand infront of her chest she wil usually walk on to it. But I can't really mess with her in her pillow. She will cherp and lunge at me from inside the pillow case.
Its so often that my times to go feed her she is sleeping and I will try to wake her up to come see me, but its her not nice time if woken up. So we don't get to play. I can sometimes get lucky and we can get it together, but that is rare. So right now its kinda just like she is alone back there in the room. :( I'm afraid her sweetness is going to disappear.
