All my orphaned squirrels over the years have been real pigs. I am amazed at how much food they can put away.
This girl i got when she was no younger than 6 weeks, but maybe about 7 weeks. She was eyes wide open and scared, but not biting and not really afraid of me. She took to the formula, and did well, but never ate as much as any past babies. Well, I have had her almost 4 weeks now. She still takes about 2 feedings of formula per day 10cc each, but other than that, she is so fussy!!!!!! i give her only healthy foods, and she simply does not eat the stuff. She has rat block at all times and I gather dandilion greens from outside, strawberry, sweet potatoe ( she does like this, but i dont want her to fill up on it all the time), brocolli, asparagus, cabbage,, etc. I have made boo-balls with good stuff added for nutrition and taste. She does not even try them. Sniff and she tucks them under her peepee paper!
I dont give her any treats to spoil her either.
her teeth are fine. not too long. She CAN eat, but she is just so fussy.
her weight was good for a while. and now I can feel her backbone. I just dont really know what to do.

UGH. Talk about fussy eaters. Try mixing a little bit of applesauce in with the formula, green beans, sweet potato, anything that will give her the taste of food.
The fact that you can now feel her backbone is concerning. I know that people say they will not starve....but sometimes I wonder when you hear about them just out right refusing food and getting thinner.:shakehead

See if she will take a waxworm. Squirrels need protein. Do you give her avocado (straight, not mixed in anything)? Snap peas (they seem to be all my guys fav, even Godiva's babies love them). Try sprinkling ground flaxseed on some stuff and see if that will entice her.

all good ideas.
Right after I posted this am, I opened bucket of cottage cheese for me, and she like went crazy for it.I figured the cows milk would be ok for her now that she is a bigger girl, and can digest food.
I did see her drink water today from her water bottle! Yeah! She has been refusing that too!, but she drank a lot today.
I have been taking a pinch of almond butter and I roll it in chia seeds ( high in calcium). She does eat some of this.
she did like red pepper, but not too many calories in that.
