9 mth old boy - accidentally closed cage door on his toe after playtime. :( Swollen pinky toe. The rest look okay. He's babying his foot, but I think it's due to the single toe. Foot looks normal.
He's doesn't seem real distressed, but I wanted to know if I should give him any meds, and also are there any major concerns with this?
I've read where they gnaw their wounds, need amputated, etc. Is that likely to happen here? No broken skin.
Thanks for your help.

It's one of LG's boys...Taz Poor baby. I feel terrible!

Have to go to work today, so I won't be able to watch him closely. Praying that he doesn't bother it! Poor baby!
:thankyou

there is nothing that you can do for the baby"s toe, it will be ok. I have raised about 13 squirrels and we have had our problems sometimes, but it will be ok! Just like if they were in the wild and they get hurt...they will cope. They are tough little guys and will heal. As long as the toe is not bleeding and you did not cut it off, then it will heal and they will be running around just like nothing has happened.:)
