Hi my name is Victor. I am from Mexico but living in Canada; it is really weird to see a squirrel in the city I'm from so two days ago I was surprised to see a little squirrel in front of my doorway. It didn't move when I came closer and so I thought something was wrong with it, but after a little way it ran to some bushes. I had to go to class so I told my dad about I had seen. I was worried because there are 3 neighbours' cats that usually come around the house and I didn't want anything to happen to the little squirrel. The next day my dad woke me up and in his arms he was carrying the squirrel I had seen the day before and told he had seen it in front of the house and didn't move when he picked it up (which worried him). I made it (I dont know yet if its a boy or a girl) a bed with a blanket and read the forum on nutrition and gave it a little of banana and some cabbage (thats all I found in the house).
Anyways, I'm thinking of feeding and taking care of it for a while and then when it grows a little more to what all the squirrels look like release it again.
I am open to any tips and opinions. I came to this forum cause I dont want to make a mistake with my new friend. :)

Welcome, Victor! Thank you and your dad for caring about this little squirrel and taking it inside....it sounds like a baby who somehow has been orphaned or abandoned by its mamma.
There is LOTS of info for you here about what to do for the baby. Most importantly, he may be dehydrated so you'll want to get some Pedialyte, or make your own:
1 qt very warm water
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt.
A little flavoring, like apple juice
Get a 1cc syringe, no needle, from the pharmacy or a pet store, and very slowly introduce the baby to the syringe by sliding it under his muzzle and letting a TEENY TINY drop of fluid go into his mouth. You'll find they take to the syringe very easily, because squirrels are SMART. :D
Can you post a pic of the baby? It will help us give you more accurate info on what to feed him.....

hey, thanks for the information. I made her drink it. I watched some videos and my squirrel isnt as young as in most of the videos but still looks kinda small and moves slowly. I'll post a picture as soon as I find bateries for my camera.

You will want to keep offering the mixture about every 3-4 hours today until her fur lies flat and eyes are bright. Dehydration is very serious and the number one reason baby squirrels crash after being left without mamma. If she's young enough we can get you a recipe for a temporary formula, or you may be able to get Royal Canin where you are....
