My Rocky has some issues currently...
he has been to the vet and a specialist has been recommended.
Some of you know Rocky is the light of my life...my best friend.:Love_Icon

DrLightfoot is a very accredited vet and that comes with a price...
please help me get him to her!
I am not asking for donations..I am asking that you buy gear/carriers/nest boxes/custom cages from SqCentral, not the petstore...:thankyou

I will sew anything...your ideas, mine..your fleece or mine..
I will adjust prices to fit your budget when possible..

I will sew dog/cat beds..anything that I can!:multi
I am not a fancy seamstress, but will do my dangdest!!:thumbsup

Thank you from Rocky and me:grouphug

admin..I may should have put this in the for sale forum...
sorry if you need to change it! TY

thank you

several months ago I noticed lumps on Rockys neck...
almost chipmunk cheeks..but on his neck.
I read and research lymph nodes...
I worked on building up his immune system.
I took him to the vet.
we aspirated one of them and we found old red blood cells only..
We sent a sample to the lab$$ and a member tried to grow a culture and my vet did her own investigation...all 3 tests were inconclusive.

We speculated and talked about what they could be..
so I chose to take the easiest of treatment guesses..
The ABs did nothing but add more stress to his already week immune system..
we do not even know if these lumps are related to his lymph nodes..
he is getting thin and hates anything good for him from a syringe...he has one tooth so eating as well as good nutrition has always been a challange.

I don't really share rocky too much...he is my only pet squirrel.
His disabilities were/are because of me.
We have a tremendous bond...no possible description, a very special relationship.

His last vet visit was the end of january...not alot of change.
We tried to aspirate again and got same fluid yesterday.
My vet has never done bloodwork on a sq and thinks lightfoot should give her opinion.
she is a very expensive exotics avian doctor.
Rocky is a previous patient of lightfoot...
I would like to make a consultation apppointment with her before starting him on steroids..
my vet gave her opinion and my three options..
she thinks if it were cancer he would already be dead.

she says we can benign neglect..(do nothing, watchful waiting)

run a two week low dose steroid treatment hoping for reduction of lumps, re evaluate after two weeks

do a biopsy and see what the hell they are

she also recommended consulting with lightfoot...
if so, do not start steroids ...will interfere with bloodwork if decision is made to do that.
sorry so long..

so I need to sew for Rocky!:)

Sorry to here Rocky hasn't improved, but sounds like he's holding his own. I think it would be good to get a second opinion for Rocky. Maybe low dose steroids would help his appetite if Dr Lightfoot agrees. Honey has something for her Auntie that she was sending to you tomorrow, so I'm sending a check for her cage gear that you're working on too.:thumbsup To anyonewho might need cage gear. I recommend it highly. Jackies makes it indestructible. You won't be disappointed. Honey has a cube nest, boa, baby bag and hammock in her cage. She really likes to swing and hang fom her stuff. Good luck with your dear Rocky Jackie!:Love_Icon

Jackie-

Sorry to hear about Rocky's issues. When I come over to pick up Doc Martin (May 19 or 20) I will get some items from you. I assume you have some available for purchase all the time.

I'll send you a PM about picking up Doc.

Hope Rocky feels better.

Regards,
Jeff, Sherry & Quagmire

This picture is far superior than my "Window" picture and should be on the cover of the TSB calendar for next year. My window pic is cute and of course the subjects are cute, but this pic is pure unconditional love at it's very best. I absolutely LOVE this picture.

I knew that HAD to be SquirrelCav when I saw the pic...God his stuff is good. We have some crazy talented photographers here, but his stuff has a warmth to it that just leaps out. I like it even better in B&W.
