View Full Version : Formula Mixer Bottle (?)

I ordered one of the formula mixer bottles from Chris's Squirrel & More and it just arrived today and while I was reading the instructions for mixing formula it in - it clearly stats that hot or warm liquids are NOT to be used in the container or the lid could pop........
So my question is
How do those of you that already have this bottle premix your Fox Valley?
(cold or hot)
Thank you,

That looks nearly identical to the one I got from Henry's. Does the lid screw on or snap on?
I know the flap on the top snaps down and it's tight (gotta push pretty hard to get it to snap). The blue lid is what I am interested in.
IF it screws on, go ahead and use the hot water. I do.
Put everything in, close it all up, swirl it around a few times, then open the white flip top allowing some air to escape, close it and swirl again only harder this time, open the top again releasing more air, then close it hold it tight and shake the heck out of it. Be careful when you are done and remove your hand from the white flip top...it may pop open and splash FV. Mine has never popped open, but it could, so I am always careful.
My old mixer bottle had a snap on top...yeah, need I say more? I cannot tell you how many times I have had half of my kitchen sprayed by exploding FV....windows, cabinets, faucet, sink, counters, floor, ceiling...everywhere.

I have one of these and I use it all the time to mix hot formula. I always leave top thing (for lack of a better word :tilt ) open. On the picture from her website, it's the white piece of plastic on the cap.
I then shake in circles rather than up and down, since the top is open.
When you mix hot water with FV, gas is released in the first few seconds, so if everything is airtight, the gas is going to want to go somewhere. That is probably why they wrote that warning.
I love the mixer!:D

I have one too but I've only used it when I had a LOT of unweaned babies. (Otherwise I just make enough to do one feeding at a time.) Tell me -- how do you guys stop a big clump of cement-like FV from forming on the bottom of the bottle? All the shaking in the world didn't do it for me.....:dono

Water in first, then FV powder, then shake the living he!! out of it. Never get clumps, just perfect FV.
The steel ball thingy is the bomb!!!

messy powder business all around, I say just try different things, I did like the idea of the wire ball on the bottom but it was really hard for me to open the pop top, FV every where many times, can you say FOOD FIGHT!!!:D

I love them! Just remember to vent like Milo's Mom recommended. I never tried it with water first, then powder; I did it the opposite, powder first, then water. To avoid clumps when doing it this way, I found that if I held on to the lid on the spout and held the bottle upside down and then shook, gravity seemed to help to avoid formula being left on the bottom.

Thanks for the replies...... the 20 oz bottle I purchased from Chris's website is the same blender bottle that is sold on Henry's website... exact same bottle and screw on red lid --Chris's just needs to update their website pic.
I will try the suggestions mention and let you know how it goes. I was just concerned the white lid thingy might go POP on me when I went to shake the mixture up with the hot water that is required to thoroughly dissolve the fv.

I only have two, and that's enough... when I need more than two, I go to a pitcher:eek: , but still use the shaker bottle to make it in... love mine!

I just call it prepared. I usually find something I like.....by the time I need another one, it's discontinued.

Anyone who has long hair (and is over 30) may remember the 'Purr'.....would give my right arm for one now!!!! lol
