I have a young flying squirrel, who I found about two weeks ago. Ive thought about keeping him as a pet, but now I dont know. Whenever I want to go somewhere, I know that you have to prepare there food daily, and I do not want to have to find someone to watch him all the time. Should I just release him? If so, when? And willl I ever see him again?

Ypdate: I have made the decision that he belongs in the wild, and I would like for someone who can raise him with other flyers, and release him happily. Pm me if you have any suggestions, he is around 7-9 weeks, healthy, and still on FV. I'm just trying to do the best thing for him.

Hang in there and keep doing what you have been doing, as this little one will need at least another month in your care before he is ready to be released..... and even then he will need to be released into a group of flying squirrels for a chance to survival in the wild.

Are you feeding hhb blocks, vegetables, wild plants, fruits or nuts yet?
If not...... please check out the Diet list in Nutrition.

I wish I could take him - but I think I am too far away

Although I am very sad to let him go, I have found somebody that has a female flyer his age and is going to care for him and release him into the wild where he belongs. :shakehead
