this might not necessarily qualify as an "emergency" but the way I feel right now, I consider it as such.
so, while I was at work Jack and Sara managed to get out of their house. my partner texts me at nearly 6 and says "wait til you get home, Sarah greeted me at the door and Jack is watching porn on your computer. the house is a disaster." okay, so lol. I texted back are they back in their house? and get "Jack is."
okay, so I'm thinking my partner is in the process of rounding up Sara. I get home at 7:15 partner is gone. I start to clean up the mess and then, realize that only Jack is in his house. Sara is nowhere to be seen.
and, the kitchen window is open because it was so warm today, and there is a hole in the screen. the hole has been there since last year. and a squirrel could definitely fit through it.
I am PANICKING!!! I ran around our apartment, looked under the bed, all the furniture, the shelves... no Sara. so now I'm thinking she went outside. I run outside, it's just starting to turn dark. I'm calling her, looking all around the house. can't find her. looked in the basement cause there's an open window. she's not in the basement. looked under all the shrubs, under the front steps, up in the trees in the yard.
OMG OMG. what should I do? I can't believe I've had them safe and sound all winter long with no incident, and two weeks before I begin soft release Sara gets lost outside, by herself.
would she venture far? there are a lot of wild gray squirrels in the area... maybe she followed one of them? they all stop by for nuts in the a.m. would or she stay close to the house?
and poor Jack. he is so depressed and sad all by himself in his nest. this is like a bad dream.
