backyardfeeder

What do you think could be the problem: I feed the backyard critters, assorted noctural mammals, birds and squirrels. Squirrels get sunflower seed, black and striped, and peanuts. Recently on two different days, a different squirrel each day showed neuorlogical issue signs. They would eat sitting and then they'd tumble over. Balance issues. The first one did it a lot and when I went out to look closer he didnt' look like he could get up the tree but he was gone by the time I got my gloves, carrier etc. The 2nd day squirrel, a different color, had a problem but not as bad and I saw him come down a tree, so he could climb. He appears to be O.K. now (he's a distinctive color). The 1st guy wasn't distinctive looking so I can't tell if he's here or not. Do you think they were poisoned? They acted drunk (as if haven eaten something fermented) but this is the wrong time of year here in NJ for fruit and I'm good about clearing away old sunflower hulls etc. Is there any disease that would give neuorlogcal issues, keeping in mind, one squirrel now acts normal. Too much of a coincidence that 2 squirrels would be hit by a car or even fall from a tree. Could too many peanuts cause an issue? These are free roaming wild squirrels and they do eat lots of the sunflower seeds. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks. .
