Someone in my Raccoon Network has come across a lady in Dunellon, Marion County, FL that can't find a rehabber to take a baby squirrel. Checking the physical status. I can get the lady's phone number. Anybody up for this? :multi

I'm in Eustis, Lake County. I could do it if cute cannot. Scoobysnack is in Ocala.

Hey Treeman, I am, depending on where in Dunellon, an hour to hour and half away. Is this in Marion or Citrus County? If I were to go to pick up it would be later afternoon tomorrow. The Ocala member is closer depending on the responce. I will PU..no problem..just let me know. Is she getting baby hydrated?? and warm?

I'm also about an hour and a half, but I have no babies right now. If someone else has some, they should take it. Singles are tough. Or I can take it & transport to someone with babes. Let me know. I'll keep checking in.

I do not have any babies either. Legomom, go ahead and make arrangements to do the pick up. If you do not want to get the baby just say and I will step up as a second. Just let me know if I am needed, but otherwise if Legomom is ready then please get the little one.:thumbsup

Ok, I think someone needs to take this baby asap, right?
If you need another baby, there is a single female where I volunteer.
She is still there as of today.
She looks more like 3-4 weeks, eyes not open yet but has fur.
We have been trying to find someone with a same-age baby to match them up.
Even if they are a week or so apart they can get along fine.
Treeman - please contact the person that has the baby and see if they are ready to meet up.
Legomom, if you can take the baby I can get the other one to you.
I'm just 15 miles from Mt. Dora.

The lady is in Marion County. The Raccoon Rehabber just got back with me this afternoon. She had been attempting to reach someone she knew and was unsuccessful. Could one of you PM your contact info? As of yesterday the baby had been hydrated, but I'm not sure right now.

If noone else can go get this baby tonight I can.
It's my day off, not sure if the keeper is up late --can you find out.
I can go right now, seriously.
Legomom, would you take the baby?
You are close enough for me to meet during a work day.
I can have the other baby delivered to me and take them both.
Please let me know.
I can't commit to any babies.
It's near impossible for me to get all the feedings in with my work schedule.
I can manage a day or two tops.
Gracias y'all! :wave123

Edit - 2hrs drive according to Google maps, no matter which way I slice it.
Still willing to go, but only today.
Legomom will take them both.
If tonight does not work she can pick up or meet tomorrow afternoon.
We need to know if this baby is being fed properly to ease our minds though. :dono

I said I would get the baby but Legomom said she was up so?? If someone will get me an address, PM me, I can get the baby tomorrow. I need an address so I can get an estimate to how long it will take me to get there. If Legomom is not going to go I will.

Y'all are AMAZING but don't fire up your engines just yet! Believe me, I WISH I could get the phone number & address!! (it's making me looney-tunes!) but, I don't think I will be so lucky tonight. I'm getting the feeling that these might be some older women that might have retired for the night. I couldn't get a response last night after about 8pm and it's not looking like I'll be lucky tonight. I'm hoping the lack of urgency is because the baby is fine and the Rehabber & the lady are not especially computer savvy nor used to the speed of communication? tinfoil I messaged her and said that y'all are ready to go and I NEED that info. now I wait... :shakehead

Well based on what you told me Treeman, the baby is in good hands for the moment.
Legomom is willing to pick up tomorrow afternoon, and then I will get the other
baby to her that needs a buddy.
Most rehabbers I know won't answer the phone after dinner time.
You gotta have the backline number or know the secret code to get a hold of them! :rotfl

I sneak them to school with me. Worst kept secret in the building. The year I had Gus, my classes named their online class forum "Gus-net."

:crazy YaY!! :thankyou djarenspace9! I hope this works out well. This is the first time I have tried to set up something like this and it was harder than I thought. When I saw the post on the Raccoon Network, I thought to myself, "I know TSB will have some people to help!" :multi and I encouraged the Rehabber to join. However, she didn't want to register so I offered to inquire for her. :dono
Obviously, the hardest part was getting contact information from strangers for other strangers. :poke This kind of stuff is the only internet situation that I'm involved in that requires such an exchange of personal information. I'm not very familiar with the "etiquette" for sharing that info though. :thinking I've been around TSB long enough that I feel pretty comfortable with it here and I trust the admin. :Phone However, I can understand why the Rehabber was dragging her feet a bit. She doesn't know me from Adam and has never been to TSB either.

Yeah, I can understand people being nervous about who they are dealing with.
I prefer meeting in public places, busy parking lots for example than in a strangers home.
