More info: Eyes open. Found him in the pipe yard at the hardware store where she works. Tried putting him out for mom to get, but no luck. She's going to take him home. I told her that we'll get someone in touch with her as quickly as possible have given her instructions on what to do in the meantime.

Chipmunks mature very quickly and if they have their eyes open they may be old enough to be on their own. I am rehabbing two right now that have been with me for two weeks. They came in eyes closed and they opened one week after I got them. They are allready trying to wean and eat rodent block and some seed mix. They can be nippy lil buggers but are so cute you can overlook it. I know someone in Alabaster Alabama but have no idea how close or far that is from Somerville. If she can be of help let me know. I have attached two pics, one of the munks when they came in and one taken a few minutes ago so you can see how quickly they grow up. Stacey

Dies from teh cute.
Well she went back outside and the little guy was gone, so here's hoping he's all okay. She said he was covered in ants and shivering when she found him. Doesn't sound like a good sign.
How come I never find a chipmunk :|
