Hey guys, I know it's been a while. Skweeks mom here. I just got a call from a friend that knows my love of squirrels. She cut down a tree that had babies it in it. She sent a pic and the babies look 6 - 7 weeks old. Eyes open and trying to climb out of that shoe box they are in. I told her to leave the to see if mama comes back. She is afraid to leave them alone in the woods. It's dark now and they are an hour from me. What to do???

It's so great to see you, I have missed you and your baby so much...:grouphug :grouphug
I would not keep the babies out in the dark, bring them in. Can she take care of them overnight and perhaps try tomorrow to reunite? They will need at the bare minimum hydration, do you know if she has any supplies?

She has nothing and no idea of what to do with them. I have Marty on the phone... she has some people in the area she is trying to reach. I'm going after them. The lady that has them has a good heart but no clue of what to do with them.

Nancy, thank you!!! I have missed you too. Skweeks is happy and spoiled rotten. As all squirrels that own humans should be.

The babies are about 6 weeks old. Eyes open and bright. Little teeth that can chomp when scared. When I got to them they were in a shoe box with a towel in it. It was covered but they were outside and it was raining. We got them home and warmed them while picking mites off...ewwww. I hope I got them all. The each took just a little pedia lite curled up together in a little ball of squirrely cuteness and slept. There are two boys and a girl.

This morning the boys each took 1 cc of FV and the girl took 2. She grabbed the nipple and off she went. They boys took some coaxing but eventually got the idea. I didn't want to push too much too fast. Now, I have to figure out how to sneak them into my office today.

Now to find a permanent raise and release home for these guys. A lady has been recommended to me from a TSBer that is only about an hour away. I will call her today. If there is anyone in the Northen VA, Western MD area that has room for three little sweet hearts please let me know. I would love to raise them and watch them go free but I have to travel a lot and I'm just not seeing how I can pull it off.

Thanks everyone! :thankyou

The babies are doing well. They are eating well, pooping and peeing but no luck on finding them a rehabber to raise them up and let them go be wild. I have mad a few calls but nothing yet. I managed to sneak them into my office today and will try the same trick tomorrow. I know I can pull the list from the phone book but I would find a like minded person from the board if possible.

The babies have a new home. A TSBer that is a few hours from me gave me the number of a lady about 45 min away. I took the babies on my lunch break and the place is beautiful. Acres and acres of woods and meadows. Rows of huge release cages and years of experience. The lady was wonderful and I kissed and snuggled each baby before putting thm in their new box. I couldn't ask for a better forever and wild home for my little ones.

Thank you all so much for all your help. I just ordered more supplies from Henry's so I'll be ready for more if they find me. :D :thankyou
