Chocolate Kiss HELP

Baby Boy is at it again I had to chase him around for 25 minutes to get the 1/2 eaten Herseys Kiss out of his mouth. I know it's hard to give up chocolate!, but my question is WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN I know chocolate is harmful to dogs & cats but what about squirrels? Help please

It may be harmful to squirrel as well, but I do know that it is super dark chocolate that is the big risk. Milk chocolate is much less of a risk.

Keep an eye on him but don't worry to much. I have given m&m's as a treat before and had no problems.

He should be fine. Dogs are the ones that have issues with chocolate (or something that is in chocolate, actually). A half a kiss shouldn't be an issue. Next time, keep your stash hidden better! :crazy

He will also be circling Valentines Day on his squirrel calender...

The thing is chocolate is theobromine and the darker the chocolate, the more theobromine, with the bakers chocolate having the most. Milk chocolate has next to none. Furthermore, it appears that rodents are not affected by theobromine.

I've known people who have given chocolate as a treat before so it's probably not an issue but I wouldn't recommend it.

Have you tried stashing your chocolate in a tupperware container? That seems to work well. Or in the fridge or freezer? I think chocolate tastes better when it's cold anyways :D

A a few doses of homemade pedialyte to help flush the system out wouldnt hurt.

Homemade Pedialyte

1 cup warm water
1/4 tsp salt (teaspoon)
1 Tbsp sugar (tablespoon)
