I will tell this person to post here as well, but here is the info (copied and pasted over) if anyone has any immediate suggestions. Thanks!

"Possible MBD and a broken heart

It's been a long time since I posted anything on here. I've always lurked around though. Now, I need some expert help. My babies are Peaches and Sweet Pea. I lost Sweet Pea last saturday. I had no idea she was so sick. Now I have Peaches still and am worried that since she was eating the same food that she too may have it and I don't even know it. She is overweight so the issue of being extremely active was out of the question. They were sisters and I had them for five years. I thought I was doing everything right. They had plenty of fresh veggies, etc. seeds, chicken, vitamin suppplement and mineral supplement plus reptocal on their seeds. The name brand of the vita drops is Oasis. The name brand of mineral supplement is Nutrimin. The vitamin and mineral supplement were always in a water container mixed up as well as they had fresh water daily in another container. They could choose if they wanted. So, my question is "Did Sweet Pea have too much". How do I know? I need to know what to do to help Peaches now. We have cried for five days now. I am just beside myself. They are so dear to my heart. WE all agree that we would have never, never imagined that we would have become so attached to anything in our lives. Their cage was cleaned daily, fresh food and water was put in daily. They were handled all the time. We just love them. Please help if you can offer any advice.
By the way, when Sweet Pea passed I noticed that her gate when she tried to walk was completely wrong. This angel has NEVER bitten or even nipped at me. During her last moments she bit my thumb to the bone and just chewed. I knew she was in pain. My son got her in his shirt and she bit his shirt putting holes in it. Then, that fast, she was gone. If anybody is interested there are pictures on this board of them when they were little. They are adorable."

I asked her for more info and she added this:

"The only warning sign was a little episode that lasted about 4 or 5 minutes 10 days prior to her death. She was in her potty and jumped out and ran across the counter and just froze for a few minutes. I thought she was just scarecd. As well, this happened all the time, when I would take her from her warm bed and put her in her potty she would shake sometimes. I assumed that was the temperature from warm to cold that she encountered. When she was dying, she ran around and around my shoulders uncontrolably. She normally has never done it in that manner.
I can't help but wonder if I'm overdosing them. Alternative food and water have always been provided as a "choice" for them. Should I get the ZooMed Reptile 5.0 light and keep it on all night. I could then just take away the reptile and minerals. Any suggestions?"

I assume this is a flyer?
I do not do any of that for my flyers.. my diet is so different,I do not know what any of those supliments are..I am sorry.
The night people know more about flyers than the day crowd over all.

I am thinking most here don't use too much in the way of watre suppliments either,
keeping cking, someone will be able to help you..

If I were concerned that I had overdosed anything, I would push fluids to cleanse the system, however it sounds as if this has been long term.
My advise is try to add all the vitamins and minerals you think they were getting daily, and post that...
if she has a vet, call and take her in..
I am sorry you lost Sweet Pea.:grouphug

Thanks Jackie,

Yep it's for a flyer. They are in a 'red state' so they may have trouble finding a vet. We're working with her to try and get her in touch with a friendly vet anyways.

I also suggested a necropsy so that they could determine what caused death in the first flyer (over or under supplementation or something else) so that they know what to do for the surviving one.

I'll keep y'all posted

:morning Hi IrishHarps
Give her my Number. My computer has been up and down because of the Thunder Storms. I Never use Supplements in my water. She needs to call me if she is wonting help. :thumbsup3
I am thinking she has been OVER DOSING with Supplements! No More Repcal That can cut the inner lining when she pee out the excess.
How much Protean? Worms and Chicken a Day is she feeding? What Kind of seeds are being Feed? Is she feeding ANY RODENT BLOCK, or FlyerBlock???
Have her tell you What she is feeding. Individual things. How much does her Flyer eat of each Fresh Vegetables? How many Piece of Fruit does she feed her?
I still can't get on NFSA. I have been waiting for Joane to help me out. I have been a member their for several months. since they changed some of their stuff. Skul or I can't get on.:shakehead
Can you give Her the TSB information and ask her to Join? She really needs to read the Nutrition cite. :thumbsup5
PS
PM what state she is in. I Know people all over that might be able to help. :thinking

Thanks Mrs. Skul! I sent her all that info and we'll see what she says. I also PMed her your number so hopefully she'll be getting in touch soon.

I also feel like there is more of a danger of over-supplementing in this case rather than under-supplementing. But you never know until you get a necropsy exactly what killed the flyer, and she had already buried the dead one, so there is no chance of that at this point (too bad).

Hopefully she will get in touch with you soon to get some advice on how to move forward at least.
