Just got a call from a lady that has a baby pigeon that is blown up and constipated and she is needing to know what can be done for it..... I am not that knowledgeable with birds and other than thinking of possibly giving it natural pumpkin for the constipation I am lost.
Any ideals?

send a pm to psychobird, I think, she knows birds.
Other ppl that dealt with birds - CritterMom (parrots), pappy1264...
I know JakesLittlePrincess has a pigeon... Nancy in New York once cared for a bird, I think....

Sent a message to Jodi, will try to call her, too. This is beyond my expertise, I have to say. When you say baby, is it a baby she has been tube feeding or is this a young bird? Is it wild or pet?
Just called and spoke with her, she should be on soon.

i think more info is needed
are you going to take in the pigeon??
someone who doesn't know piji's could think a full crop or a ruptured air sack is bloated
i highly doubt its constipation
birds do not bloat the same way mammals do when they are have digestive issues
need to know what she is feeding it, how she is feeding it, aprox age, pics would be great

Ok - this is what I got from the Lynette
The bird is a pet (2 wk old)..... she has the parents and had to separate mom & dad, as dad kept on wanting to mate. While she has other pets this is her first baby pigeon and up until this happened today momma bird had been feeding the baby pigeon (Walmart brand cockatiel seed). Lynette states that you can feel that the baby pigeons belly is full of seeds.
She has given the baby pigeon some grit and small amount of prunes thinking that would help with the constipation.
She is soaking the baby bird in some warm water. If any one thinks they can help I can email you her phone #.

Does she mean its crop is full of seeds? How old is the mom and is this her first baby (and was there only one?)

not for sure about the other questions....... but she did say this was her first baby pigeon.

normal for crop to stay full for hours on a 2 weeks old, takes them longer to digest seeds than a baby formula like kaytee

if she is not confident handfeeding the babe she should allow it to stay with the parents, if the male is being aggresive and may harm the babe take him out and allow mom to care for it
can also defrost some frozen corn and peas in warm water and pop one at a time into its mouth allowing him to swallow after each one

Baby pijis are just wonderful to raise
Once ya get tubing down (which is sooo easy with a 14g curved feeding needle)
They are just the sweetest easiest birds to raise
