Has anyone figured out a way to keep a squirrel's back leg wrapped? This is a NR who's back legs are paralyzed, so they drag when she's going about her usual day, running around, climbing, etc. She's a happy, lively girl, and wicked-fast running around the house using just forearms. There has never been an issue with rubbing, but just recently she got a little sore on her knee and started biting at it. Her knee looks very much like Dill's (Dill's Leg Again), but did not see how that was resolved. An e-collar would solve that, but with having no use of the back legs, she would most likely not be able to get around at all and would not be able to eat, wash her face or rub her little ears. IF there is a way to keep that leg wrapped, she could carry on as usual.
She has been to the vet, who is familiar with squirrels and knows her well. The only issue with her leg now is keeping the leg wrapped so she will leave it alone and let it heal. Today the vet wrapped it with "no chew" wrap around her waist and down around the affected leg. The leg part had come off in the 20 minutes it took to get her home. The waist part keeps her from bending to bite at it, but does not solve the everyday rubbing on the sore.
I've been searching around and have seen a few references to Charley Chuckle's "vest", but have not located a picture. Can someone steer me in the right direction? :thankyou
