Hi all. I may not be able to find this animal at all to help him, but I thought I would post. My co-worker was alerted by a guest that there was a small snake in the lobby men's room and I think my co-worker, while he is a very nice person, felt pressure from the guest and maybe a measure of personal fear. So, my co-worker sprayed the little snake with roach spray and put him outside. Co-worker said he looked it up after the fact and found out it was probably a harmless Florida Ringneck.

I've gone out to look for him with a flashlight, but didn't see him where my co-worker says he placed him. I'm gonna go out and look further. The fence area where he placed the snake is right by a shrubby area with palmettos, etc.

Do you think the little guy will die/get sick from the roach spray? :(

I looked for him again guys, including the edges of the palmettos. It's looking like he's just gone on his way. Still, I'm wondering if he'll be ok. Any ideas?

i don't know ... it depends on how toxic it is... it can be absorbed by the skin... it could mean slow poisoning or not....

there's no way to tell.....

Unfortunately, snakes in the grass get a bad rap.
On a good note, they do tend to be immune from many nasty things humans throw at them.
As GS1 mentioned, their outer skin can and will protect them from many outside influences.
The little wiggler will soon shed that skin, with no harm done. I hope.

Thanks, Gs1 and Skul, for your thoughts. I hope he'll be okay. Wish I could've found him. Maybe the fact that he's wriggled out of sight means he wasn't feeling any ill effects. As Skul said, I hope. :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug to both.
