More hurt toes! I think Spice slammed her toes in the nest box lid. There was some blood and her foot hurts. There is no obvious injury on the surface except some scraping but two toes seem immobile at the moment. The injury is fresh and she favors the foot. It is the left hind and middle and ring finger toes. She clucks at me when I mess with them and is obviously in some pain. It's basically an injury like slamming your fingers in a door. I flushed the toes with betadine. She's about 14wks.
Should I give antibiotics?

From what I can tell by reading what happened there is not really a reason for antibiotics at this point (there is no infection). However, she may appreciate a dose of INFANT Motrin...will relieve pain and reduce swelling. In order to dose the INFANT Motrin we will need a weight on her.
Possibly leave it alone till morning and then if there is swelling go with the INFANT Motrin route.

Sorry, it took so long to check back. Spice's toes seem to be mending just fine. I must have got to her right after she did it on Monday and the blood freaked me out. She is still slightly favoring the foot but I don't blame her...slamming your fingers in a door is the worst! She's using it and hanging with it now.
