Thanks scootermomsiver sulfadene is generally great...I have only used on a few myself with excellent results..others say the same...
another good AB cream would be Animax{panalog..
also any eye AB ointment is gonna be good and safe.

I use silver sulfadiazine cream on Simon, helps when he used to get urine burns, and now when he scratches himself on his hind leg.

thanks tsb knew cream was silver couldnt remember the rest luckily I have an old country vet that I can ask for these sort of things. Weather was bad little man didn't come home checked his house twice never knew how much raising him would make me a nervous nelly lol Love all you on forum not everyone is chosen like us for this special task it truly is a gift. Tamed iodine, like Betadine or Povidone, is a good treatment for most wounds. It will kill just about every kind of germ but is gentle on the skin and doesn't sting. It dries quickly, can be used to flush the wound, and doesn't leave a gooey mess behind that the patient will want to lick off. It's readily available, and inexpensive. It's still being used to prep humans for surgery. There are chlorhexadine products that are good for general use too. Not as easy to find, and more expensive. There is a new product, Vetricyn, that is supposed to be good, in a spray, and cream but it is very expensive and I haven't tried it. I just keep a generic of Povidone iodine on hand to use for most things, except eyes. Panalog has cortisone in it. You don't want to use it for certain purposes, since cortisone suppresses the immune system and can make the infection worse.

I have only an N of 1 here, but when I released my boy this summer, he did get beaten up a bit for awhile. Couple of his bite cuts looked like they hurt, but weren't open gashes or anything. Even once he had his eye partly swollen shut from a little cut over his eye. :(

All of them healed perfectly fine on their own tho. Others can chime in but I think nature gives them a strong immune system for many cuts.

Not if it's from a cat though! If you suspect the bites are from a predator vs from another squirrel in a squabble, you might need to bring him in for antibiotics. :grouphug
