Wasn't sure where to post this...
Four years ago I rescued a little piney squirrel that was born late in the season, had lost his mother, and had also lost most of his fur. While I've never raised a squirrel before, I have worked with birds extensively so I gave it a try. He nursed for a few weeks, then I weaned him, and he eventually got back all his fur. Kept him for about 9 months before I worked to release him.
Haven't seen him lately... until today! There he was at my feeder -- looking beautiful and sleek. So fast you can hardly see him when he's running and leaping in the trees. He's now just over 4 years old -- and what a handsome fellow!
