Stupid question !
Is it safe to give small pieces of turkey to squirrels ?.
I know you can feed them bits for chicken.

Cheers

do not know about turkey,
although, bits of chicken might be ok, they are given mostly to flyers - flying squirrels - because they have higher protein requirements.
Tree squirrels can do without chicken - just make sure he eats his daily blocks, good veggies and safe wild foods.

Buddy used to love turkey burgers. He is a finicky eater.

I know that flyers need protein in their diet (chicken, mealworms, etc) and we don't give it to greys, but greys do eat birds sometimes I'm sorry to admit. :( I saw one of my releases gnawing on a bird leg once and almost died of gross-out....and, well, ask Fireweed about Meemor's little bird event sometime....:yuck:yuck:yuck

My guys do not eat chicken but they love the bones. Never tried turkey though.
