I tried searching and have not found this, so asking. Max's fur is wet around his penis. It started out about a week or so ago, just a little, now it is about the size of a dime diameter around. He is not messing with himself down there, he is eating fine, acting fine, looks great. How his testicles have dropped and I have have had other boys whose belly was really yellow from being 'one of those boys'....lol but never had one that was wet. But if it is a UTI, would I not see other signs? I don't want to just put him on meds, don't think I could easily get a sample (he is friendly but been a long time since he was pottied! lol) The penis itself is normal, not red or anything, and as stated, he is not messing with it. Should I be concerned? Should I try to bath him down there or just let him be? He doesn't seem to be grooming it, though, either....at least not that I have seen. In all my experiences with UTI, there were other sypmtoms that presented, so not sure if that is what I am looking at. Anyone?????

With a UTI I have always been able to smell it. It is a very distinct strong odor.

No odor......just wet. Very strange. I know Sebastina when he was younger his belly was always yellow....until he was much older. He was in with four other, Max is a single (lil Peanut does not like him, unfortunately!) I would think if it were a UTI he would not be acting normal (esp. since it has been about a week or so since I started seeing this). I will try to get my nose closer but I have not noticed him smelling more or drinking more for that matter.

General signs of a UTI include the possibility of:

Frequency and/or urgency
Pain on urination
Cloudy urine or urine tinged with a bit of blood
Smell or odor to the urine
Abdominal pain
Fever
Lethargy
Vomiting
Loss of appetite [partial]
Diarrhea [more in infants]

I'd see if he'd pee on a hard surface and check #3 and #4, and watch him for #1 and #2.

No other 'signs' except the wetness....could he just be a 'dirty boy'??? lol

sounds like a bed wetter...they do stop eventually!:D
I gave my last one a bath every couple three days...
usually it's the chunky monkeys ...too lazy and sleep right thru it...
in my case here this last time...Chain was peeing on poor Dusty....:shakehead
I agree, usually there are more symptoms...with UTIs.
lethargy being the most obvious after the wet/yellow belly and odor.
Hope is ok...

Could it be something besides pee making him wet? (Sorry, not trying to be gross.)

Simone is wet a lot but not all the time. He used to be wet all the time.

I thought it was because he cant feel that he is wet.
No tail movement, no bowel control.
But He is far from lathargic.
This boy can move and fast!!!:D
