My mom was told by a local vet today who use to be a wild life rehabber to NEVER give anything with salt to a squirrel. She said any amount of salt can cause convulsions and slows how they absorb calcium. I haven't seen anything here forbidding salt but I have read on other sites that small amounts were ok as a treat like a sunflower or pumpkin seed that was salted. Does anyone have any input or info on the salt? :thinking

Another question on food.... Egg shells. I read some where they are a good source of calcium and wild squirrels eat them. Feed to rehab sq. or not???

Yes very helpful. She loves egg shells and she does eat her good foods but not as well as I want her to so I can give her the shells she likes with the results I like.:wott :thankyou :goodpost
