Found a website from the UK that recommends using something called Stress Powder in the water to ensure squirrels get enough calcium. Is there a similar product here in the US? I realize there should be enough calcium in the foods I am giving to my squirrels, however this would be a nice way to make sure they are getting what is needed.

Stress Powder
In order to guard against nutritional deficiencies, please add a pinch of Vetzyme (or Philips) Stress powder to all
of their water. This is available from larger pet stores or online – ask to order it if you can’t see it on the shelf. If
you still have difficulty, call us. Squirrels are prone to some nasty problems if they don’t get a good balance of
calcium, phosphorous and magnesium and this ensures that they don’t miss out when in captivity.

never heard of it.

Different ppl do diff. things. Some people add some cal supplements.
BUT if your squirrel gets her daily blocks + good green veggies +safe wild foods, s/he should be fine and won't need supplementation.
But you have to make sure the daily blocks are eaten and not stashed.

If you are feeding HHBs - 2 per day is fine; if other blocks - should constitute about 80% of their diet.

Extra Cal supplementation, in addition to blocks, may pose a risk of overdosing on Cal which is not good.
