My boys are now trying to stash bits of their food in the corners of their cage. Which is good and is behavior I need to encourage, however the food mostly just falls out of the cage. Should I be providing something to stash their food in? A container of some sort? A small pot of dirt for them to bury stuff? Any ideas?

I find that a flower box wworks great - if you don't mind picking up dirt all oaver the floor :rotfl but then again a little house/box/cabin or an extra hammock will also work, in a pinch :)
Make sure that what's in the stash is not perishable though... you don't want them to go dig up some food that has gone bad

Yes, dig boxes are awesome. Little Bushy has a few and stuff is always being buried in them. We used the small wood chips for reptile bedding in ours. There is no dust, which is good for their lungs, and is easier to clean up. My wife wasn't happy when dirt got flung everywhere. Like Scooterzmom said you should watch out if veggies or fruits get buried in there as I had the nasty smell of rotting broccoli wafting out of her cage at one point.

How large of a dig box do you give them?

I change LB's up every once in awhile. Sometimes she gets a medium or large sized used USPS priority mail box, some times a shoe box, whatever I have handy.
