hope it's okay to post here but i am running out of options, and i know you all are animal lovers
Gonna lose my home, need to start looking for homes for most if not all of my animals
If any if you would like a néw pet, let me know, I hate to have to resort to craigslist but it is getting to that point.
Spaz= neurological starling 2yrs old
charliebird, Henri, margi, Norman, trixi= cockatiels 5-7 yrs old
Tonto= female African grey 22-23 yrs old, prefers men, very shy bird
Niko 23yr old, Micky 43 yr old= blue fronted amazon, not beginner birds would like to keep them together, just got them a massive double macaw cage
Lola= 1 yr old minilop/mini Rex rabbit, she has an awesome outdoor hutch for summers and a nice indoor cage for the winter, litter box trained
I won't let anybody go to homes with cats except for the larger parrots
Message me if your interested,
Wildlife rehabing is probably over too

So sad (for you and the critters). :grouphug
I hope you dont' have to resort to craigslist. Hopefully you can find people through here, especially if everyone spreads the word. How much time before you have to leave your place?

we got 90 days notice,i have had the word out for 6 months and have only been able to place my crippled pigeon, and my flyer
been looking to see if i can find a place that will tolerate my obnoxiously loud cockatoo and hopefully the rehabbing and be affordable
i just have too many pets and i know it will be difficult if not impossible to find a place that will tolerate all of them
:grouphug :grouphug :grouphug you're in my prayers :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug

My heart hurts for you. I know I am too far away to help - but my thoughts and prayers are with you, my fellow rescuer.

Are they foreclosing? If so don't leave your home yet. Unless someone buys it at auction it is still legally yours. I have a friend that left her house because they were foreclosing and it is still sitting there empty four years later and it is still technically hers because no one has bought it. Also if you haven't done this yet, get your bank to do a re modification on your loan, that will stop the foreclosure. We went through this ourselves not long ago. Don't just leave because they sent you a letter giving you 90 days. Those are scare tactics.

And in Florida, at least in Duval County, they will PAY you not to take the cabinets, appliances, doors, windows, etc. My neighbor is still in her home, and it's been over a year since she got her demand letter. Every locale is different but.......the courts are back logged from what she was told.

Are you looking for money for the parrots, or just good homes? I cannot take them - I have plenty - but I am a member of several parrot lists and would be happy to put something out there that would only really reach parrot people.
There is also a guy down there that has a rehab - I need to try to find the info...He has a huge barn that is used for free flight and has a beautiful setup - a friend had to move two amazons there some years ago. He is in Mass...

Not my house we rent and apparently the landlord didn't pay the mortgage for 2 yrs, it is in foreclosure but he is trying to do a short sale instead
I know we can squawt for a while especially since my guy is a disabled American
I am keeping some of my pets, Yaya and Lucy the cockatoos, my dog Emma and my 6yr old wild mouse Ming that was a cat caught pinky when I got him
Pappy is working on her husband to see if she can take spaz, my daughter is taking 2 of the tiels to her fathers house
A gal in fl who has a sanctuary sounds like she is going to take the parrots and possibly the rest of the tiels
And my bunny Lola is going back to the gal I got her from, she has her mom
Whew a lot happened today
Oh and if your thinking of foster parrots, they are now in rhode island and I'm kinda mad at them, they charge to retire your birds down there, and they told me they would take my old man amazon and I was so happy he would be able to finish his life in a free flight aviary with other amazons
Said he would take him, no charge, then 3 days later changed their mind and said no
I hate this economy

How much does Foster Parrots charge to retire? Their free flight is great...

Sorry I didn't get back to you, kinda had a meltdown over all if this and just couldn't deal,
Looks like pappy is going to take spaz, which is good because I can still visit her, and maybe take her back if things work out that way
Micky (bfa) and tonto (cag) are goin to a sanctuary in fl which is good because they are both wild caught and will be in aviaries with thier own kind
Rethinking niko my female bfa, gawd I love her
My daughter is taking Henri n margi to her dads on Saturday, my friend Wendy is going to take Charliebird
So that leaves Norman and trixi the tiels, and Lola my bunny
We r stuck in Gloucester for at least 2 more years till the kids finish school

Debbie told me not to worry and we will figure it out over the next couple of months

Yes, this economy sucks. I am sorry you are having to go through this.
I just went to the website for the sanctuary. It looks like it is not too far from me! Looks like a great place.
