A tiny creature got all tangled in our Halloween decorations (spider webbing). I finally got it free and it seems to be OK. It appears to be a flyer (we are in Mphs, TN)
I want to release it but want to know if there is anything in particular I need to do. It is really small - body length 2-3 inches. (How old would that make it?) And what are the considerations for releasing it? I don't want to just put it out to be devoured or worse yet, die of exposure.

Thank you for helping him...wow, never even thought about any accidents with that webbing..thank you for posting the dangers.
It's not advised to release him/her during daylight hours.
Flyers are nocturnal, I think a daytime release would confuse him and expose him to dangers..
I am not expert on releasing flyers, but I can PM a few peeps that can help with instructions.
Can you post a pic of the flyer?
If it's too young, you maybe better to contact a rehabber to help.
someone will be here soon.

OK, going to attempt to put up a picture. Hope it is clear enough. I might find out I don't even have a squirrel :blush
That didn't work. Said I exceeded limit. Any help with that?

you have to re-size the pic.
If that doesn't work, or re-sizing doesn't work, what some ppl do is they upload it in their photobucket and then post the link (or smth like that - have never done it myself). So, if you could try photobucket, that might work for you.

He is adorable! I am glad your were able to save him. I am sure people will be along to help you figure out how best to release him. :Welcome and glad you found us!
It appears to be a younger squirrel. :)
If by chance you've removed the webbing, I would suggest releasing it
very close to where you found it.
Do this about an hour after sunset.
If possible, set the box/cage high near the tree, and just open the door/lid, and walk away.
Check back in an hour. Bet it's gone.:D
