Well, Today was most unusual....I went to take a shower and as I was doing my business Scrat decided to join. He likes to roam around the bathroom during shower time but has never actually took a dive in. After first he just stood there. Then he freaked out badly...when I went to grab him to throw him out he zipped up my arm in a flash. Now that my arm and shoulder literally are beat red and looks like I got mauled by a bear, scrat is sleeping in the window. Heres the problem, he squeeks when I touvh him and he is panting heavily. Is he hurt? Is he just scarred? He has been laying in the window drying in this beautiful weather for like 20 mins now. He just doesnt look right to me. Maybe because he is all wet and looks funny but the breathing thing is making me nervous and now I have to leave for work in less than an hour I am afraid to leave him. Oh lordy... why did he have to be so curious about the shower today out of all the days he hasnt bothered with it.

He is probably just a bit freaked out. They live outside and come out in rainstorms... Could he have ingested any soap or anything? If not, I would make sure he is nice and warm and dry and I think he will be okay.

As Critter mom said... and I would probably make sure he's in his cage and maybe covered or kept in a spot where it's real quiet to help him destress.

Just checking in to see how the little "bather" is. Is he improving?

Hi everyone! Im sorry I didnt respond I am just now getting home from work. I have to be back in the morning early. Big adoption event tomorrow and lots of organizations are coming. Oh I am excited maybe i'll bring my little grill and make hot dogs! Scrat seems to be acting fine but I was worried sick all day. I almost thought I squeezed him to hard and hurt him. His claws are so sharp and trying to pull him off of me was not working. Im such a worry wart. I just want the best life for him and to be the most spoiled squirrel in the world.
:thankyou

Does this mean they like water? I thought water was like a cat to them. its a no go on them wanting to be in it? Also has anyone tried using lava dust? like what chinchillas use? I was looking at it at work the other day and it says for all small animals. I guess they bathe in it and it kills mites.. idk...
