can Alex tell you step by step, hour by hour or smth like that what she did and what he did, what he ate, where he played etc etc during several hours preceding the foaming?.... how it started?

Also, what she feeds him daily and in what amounts etc etc.

Ask her to be as detailed as possible

No, he is just in his cage, he has a sheet and pillow case, and a cat carrier (sanitized before use 3 weeks ago) I only let him out supervised and then only on my bed. He hasn't gotten into anything.

this is what was said about him getting it to something.... i just copy and pasted what you said astra so a few mins on that

This is all I know. My mom fed him at 11:30 (2 1/2ccs) while I was at school.

I came home to feed him. Pulled him out and he was running around my lap (as usual) I got his syringe ready, and was about to feed him, when I noticed the foaming. I made him wait until he stopped foaming to eat. He was in his carrier all day, no new things added in at all. Same carrier since I got him. I hadn't cleaned it, I did change the blanket but that was atleast a week ago. Today is cage cleaning day.

I feed him 3 ccs per feeding (he’s been bloating more easily for some reason)
I feed him at 5:30 in the morning, my mom’s time varies (11:30-12:30) When I get home at 3:15 (afternoon) again at 5:00 (evening) at 8:00 at night and then again 11:00 at night.

Is there any reason he might have become overheated? I know foamey mouth can happen when they are too hot.

I just snuck on, i have to hurry.
I just fed Colombus again, as I was filling the syringe the foaming started again. I gave him the syringe this time and wah-lah the foaming stopped.
I think it is anticipation for the meal, but I am unsure...
Anyone know anything about this?

MM and Alex,

just in case, please post the next time A's town if possible, just in case an urgent help is needed, so that TSB could start looking for someone close by.

Overheating might be a possibility - so check the heating pad. Should be on low!

As far as other possibilities - please keep checking as exp. rehabbers will be on with suggestions!:grouphug

Exactly astra, I would like to be prepared in case a bad scenerio crops up....:Love_Icon

Always keep the heating pad on LOW, and only under half of the container on the outside. Put enough fleece or flannel in there so they can climb to the top if they start to overheat. Check the heat too, sometimes the pads can overheat and cause death.
Can she describe what exactly she means by foaming? Is it whitish or is it just salivating?

Astra and all others,
I do keep the heating pad on low, And it is only underhalf too. He appears to have enough, and it's not happening in his cage.
It is not whitish, it bubbling saliva, lots of bubbles.
I posted earlier, I don't know if anyone saw it, since my mom is back so it's too risky for me to get on. I made him wait for the syringe again, like last time when I just let him roam my lap, and he blew the bubbly-foam like stuff, until I gave him the syringe...

i have pictures but no foam The foam is only at feeding time and he definately wont hold still for a picture, I've handled him after he's been fed and no foam. I think it is just a weird thing before feeding

Alex is 2 hours southwest of me and 1.5 hours northwest of UDoWhat.
The FV that she has is 20/50. It seems to me that if she is talking about bloat she should be feeding them less often, especially with them now being on the FV versus the KMR they were on.

Also the saliva bubbles sounds like anticipation for yummy FV. Maybe?

this is what Kathie thought about this:

Seems like an isolated event . I've had really hungry babies do this. Sometimes they regurgitate a tiny bit of formula and there is froth. This baby is prone to bloat. May need to keep an eye on it for possible pneumonia if it continues

Tell her I said thanks for everything and not disclosing my information. Feed less often? I already make them wait a while... I feel guilty making them wait... And they go 2 hours and all night...

I am assuming that this is in response to my previous post...???

With babies on FV you can go longer between feedings. Since it has all the good stuff in it that they need, it takes them longer to digest it. Can you still see the milk lines on the babies?

I didn't have time to read through all of this but I wanted to let you know there was a time I thought my little one was foaming at the mouth too. It only happened once though and I think it was because she was so excited to eat. It reminded me of how babies drool and make little bubbles. But like I said, it only happened once. Sorry I couldn't be of better help! I hope everything works out!
