Where can I get one? I really want one and would feel safe transporting babies this way. I know about the rice sock, I have just recently traveled longer than ususal and baby wasn't as warm as I would like him to be when I got there with rice buddy. He was in backseat of car, in cage, no a/c blowing on him & he still wasn't warm enough. So does anyone know where I can order one online or pick up one????? Thanks

You can check into an inverter for a laptop. Just be sure that it doesn't use too many watts. My husband uses one for his work computer and printer. It gives you a regular plug receptacle to plug into.

Ok guys thanks... just wondering why they just dont make heating pads that you can plug cigarette lighter into. Don't they know there are people out there transporting squirrels?:)

be careful with the adapters... when we took Mavryc to saint louis our heating pad caught on fire!!! it didnt have the auto shut off either and all we could find to replace it was a newer model so now im up every two hours turning the thing back on :poke

Until you find one you like, check your local sporting goods store - the type that sells hunting stuff (or go online for same) and get yourself some of the large size chemical heaters - they are like the little ones that you stick in your gloces - the envelopes of stuff that heat up when exposed to the air - but they make larger ones that heat for a long time - 24 hours on some of them. You have to keep the baby close so you can monitor the heat often because they get quite hot - you would put them under the container or inside a tied off sock inside like a rice buddy, but you will need to mess with how many layers of fabric between baby and heater (bring lots of socks to add or remove layers to get it right). They are a little high maintenance but they really do kick out the heat. Good for power outages, too.

Firgures you would have one Jackie, I think you have every contraption there is for squirrels, if you don't have it you have your man make one!
