I currently have 10 sq babies at various ages. 4 are Hurricane babies that I took in 4 weeks ago. We got 40+ here and divided them between rehabbers so no telling exact ages or siblings, etc. This one little guy had his eyes open when I got him and he is still only 60 grams. A female I got from another source only opened her eyes 2 1/2 weeks ago and she is over well over 100 grams. He is just like any other baby except he is so little. Precious little guy. :Love_Icon

Oh yes, I always use FV for the babies and feed them as long as they will take it. I have been rehabbing for a good while but he is just much tinier than usual. After seeing the other thread about the mini with no tail hair it made me wonder about this little man. He has actually filled out a bit since I got him. He was dehydrated and very thin. I wasn't sure he would make it but so far he has done really well. All the hurricane babies were sad and in need of tlc.

Yeah - that little guy with no tail hair is my Squirrel..... and I could tell from the very start that he was going to be tiny --at 8 weeks old he still looks like a 3 week old squirrel..... to cute.

He looks a little fluffy in the second picture, is he really soft? If so, he might have kitten fur syndrome where he just takes longer to grow up. Do you still have him on formula? The general rule of formula for the kitten fur guys is to feed them based on weight, not age, so I'd try feeding him 4 maybe 5 times a day and see if that helps (if you aren't already doing that). He might also be dehydrated, bunnies always get the fluffy look when they're dehydrated, so maybe some extra fluid feedings would help? Not real sure, but he's cute. Does he seem healthy other than his small size?

40 plus squirrels??? I cannot even imagine. :multi :multi :multi :multi :multi You are awesome!!

He is tiny and adorable. My Cooper is way small too but I think it is because he had such a difficult start in life nearly starving to death. He never looked healthy or fluffy. Still on the thin side but growing. Yours looks really healthy but small. So darn cute.

My Lulu used to be really small for her age. I started a thread for her in downs syndrome section when I first joined bc someone said it might be downs. With her, it wasn't. She was, I believe, a failure to thrive. She had many issues as a baby and one was that she didn't learn to eat solids until she was 13 weeks old. She was the size of a 4-5 week old when she was 10-11 weeks old. Her other thread that I keep updated is under breed specific and grey squirrel section. It is called the gift of Lulu. She never has wilded up so I still have her. She is finally regular size but has a very sweet disposition. I never intended on keeping her, but it seems like the right thing since she is so happy. Others I have talked to have had success in releasing other FTT's. He is really cute. Good luck with him!
