Hi, I need some help. I'm almost positive my baby squirrel has pneumonia. I know Baytril, Sulfatrim and SMZ-TMP are good antibiotics to get but it's Sunday and I'm having a really hard time getting a hold of a vet. I live in Gainesville, Fl. Can one of the Florida members help me??? Does anyone close by have any medication? I don't know how long it takes for pneumonia to kill a baby squirrel and I don't want to find out! Anybody have any advice?

My mom talked to a vet (not familiar with squirrels) and he said he can get her Orbisil in the morning?? He said it's very similar to Baytril. Has anyone heard of this?? Or something sounding very similar to this. My mom couldn't hear him very well. Also, he said he needs help with dosing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hang tight..getting some gainesville help for you...may take a few...
SMZ-TMP is not the best for pnuemonia...baytril or human ciprofloxacin is best...very fast big dog action..
are you hearing clicks with every breath...even while sleeping..?
EVERY BREATH...clicking or crackling..

Yes, She is sneezing a lot and it's hard to tell if it's clicking or crackling. I think clicking. Her sneezes sound sorta crackly though? She kind of whines too :(

She hasn't been like this for too long. She was sneezing on and off earlier today but she wasn't nearly this bad. I don't know if it's while she's sleeping but I would think so :/

Thank you so much. My mom ended up having Cipro so that is what I am using. She seems to be doing okay today. She hasn't gotten any worse and I just started the antibiotics. Thanks to everyone who helped me!
