I know this may not be life threatening, but I am shaking right now and don't know what to do.
My roommate put up flypaper and I did not realize it... Amelia jumped into it just a few minutes ago. I got it off of her, but of course she and I are now sticky. I have been using a little dawn to try and get it off the both of us... but that doesn't seem to be working... I am not sure what to do!!!
Can I shave the areas with the stickiness? is there something else i should be using to wash her. please help!!!!

Use vegetable oil to dissolve the glue. Then bathe with soap and water. Per the MSDA sheet.

I had this get in the fur of a cat. I ended up cutting it out because I couldn't get it out. Just searching the internet now, I found the following for the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for LURE FLY Sticky Fly Paper:
SECTION 4. First Aid Measures
LURE FLY Sticky Fly Paper
Emergency and First Aid Procedures
IF INGESTED: Do not induce vomiting. Drink 2 glasses of water and contact physician or poison control center.
IF INHALED: (exposure unlikely) Remove patient to fresh air.
IF IN EYES: Flush eyes with plenty of water. Call a physician.
IF ON SKIN: Solubilize adhesive in vegetable oil, mineral oil, or waterless hand cleaner, then wash with mild soap and water. Repeat if necessary. Call a physician if irritation persists. Note to Physician
No data available.
There were othe suggestions but for items that I would not want to put on a squirrel (Goo Gone, lighter fluid etc.). It seems that most were in agreeent that vegetable oil or baby oil worked good.
Good Luck.

There should be a MSDS, provided for any items that have chemicals in them. From wikipedia:
A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) (also known as PSDS (Product safety data sheet) or a COSHH data sheet in the United Kingdom) is a form with data regarding the properties of a particular substance.
An important component of product stewardship and workplace safety, it is intended to provide workers and emergency personnel with procedures for handling or working with that substance in a safe manner, and includes information such as physical data (melting point, boiling point, flash point, etc.), toxicity, health effects, first aid, reactivity, storage, disposal, protective equipment, and spill-handling procedures. MSDS formats can vary from source to source within a country depending on national requirements.
MSDSs are a widely used system for cataloging information on chemicals, chemical compounds, and chemical mixtures. MSDS information may include instructions for the safe use and potential hazards associated with a particular material or product. These data sheets can be found anywhere where chemicals are being used.
There is also a duty to properly label substances on the basis of physico-chemical, health and/or environmental risk. Labels can include hazard symbols such as the European Union standard black diagonal cross on an orange background, used to denote a harmful substance.
By looking at the MSDS for a product, you can find out what to do in an emergency. The info I posted for the Lure Fly Strip showed what to do if ingested, inhaled, in the eyes or on the skin.
I would still try the vegetable oil to make sure you get all of it out. Don't know what the substance itself would do to a squirrel if injested from licking and grooming.

I have freed many mousies from glue traps with plain old Wesson corn oil. Hate to use my expensive olive oil for that, but I will if I have to :D.

according to the box it was a non-toxic everything.... green fly paper, if you will. that makes me feel a lot better....
I am still not keen on her eating a lot of it as she tries to clear her fur... so I have been working on one part (her tail which was the worst and is now all clean) and she has been cleaning elsewhere, but when she gets a piece loose, i try to take it from here and dispose of it.
she got tired after a little while and wanted to curl up in my bra, so we're taking a break... and i'll check her over later for any left.... but she's being such a little trooper.... she has been lathered in oil, soap, washed, scrubbed and has only lightly nipped a few times.... She's such a good girl... i figured i'd have a couple holes in me, and would have been ok with it... but she's been an angel.

She knows you are trying to help her. I have had several instances where I just knew I would be bit but the squirrel just seems to relax and let me do my thing. I think they know.
