One of our squirrels must be suckling on his penis. Would a warm soak and some neosporin help?

Is he pottying ok? Yes, soak him and check to make sure he is going potty ok, as this can go bad very quickly. How old is he and what does he weigh? What/how often are you feeding him? Is he a single?

I think I figured it out. My wife found the littermate suckling on him. I seperated them overnight and the redness has gone way down.

When you put them back together, you just have to keep an eye on them to see that it is not an ongoing problem.
How old are they? You can try feeding a little bit more per feeding and maybe even a small "snack" in between feedings.
I just had this happen with some of mine. I had two brothers in with another male that is about 2 weeks older. When the two younger ones had the red penis', I assumed it was the older one doing it. I pulled the two brothers out and saw that the problem continued. I assumed it was a mutual thing going on and separated the two brothers. While I was in the nursery feeding all the babies (I have 12 right now), I actually saw "Bob" sit on his hiney and balance himself against the cage wall, bend down and start sucking on himself. His penis was really read, enlarged and had a scab on it. His brother "Rob" was back to looking normal. So now I am thinking that Bob was sucking on his penis and on Rob's as well.
I had to give Bob a warm water bath to get the scab off so he could pee. I then started putting antibiotic ointment on his penis. And I found that when I fed the babies, I had to feed him first or he would get frustrated and try to suck on himself if I made him wait while I fed the 9 younger babies first.
I have had this happen before but this was the worst and had me very worried. I think Bob is going to be fine but I watch him like a hawk!
