Has anyone ever tried screeching in a really loud, high-pitched voice when they bite? I've done that with rabbits and puppies before, and it worked. I read once that's how the mama's train their babies not to bite hard.

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl Biting isn't my problem at the moment, getting him to stay in one place is. I put him in his house to feed him and now we're all happy! Thanks for the suggestion!

I just say "meep" loud and that seems to get Crickets attention and she settles down with the "teething". Now I am just having to get her to understand that feeding works better if she is sitting and not trying to hang upside down from my hand to get to the syringe. Crazy little squirrel!:rotfl

Mine can't bite, but I swear I have to get the feeding positioning routine on video! He refuses to stay in my hand, has to crawl on top--then the real fun begins. Tail starts going in a circle and the back leg does a kick, kick, kick, kick....it's hilarious! :toung3 :rofl4

HA mine does the same thing! I keep thinking she's going to take off like a helicopter one of these times. LOL And it's always the right back leg that just spasms with kicks. I just love it.

HAHA my Nibbles does the same tail going 90m miles an hour in circles when I hold him to feed as well! Its the cutest thing.
Squeaks has taken to letting me know she is finished eating when I go to fill another syringe and she starts wiping her face on the cloth I keep them on while I feed.. I put them over a cloth as my little ones tend to poop their little pellets all over the place while feeding :sanp3
Nibbles runs around all over my lap looking for the syringe after I take it from his mouth to pick up the other one.. I use 2 at minimum so one is always loaded and ready for the swap out. No biting here yet but I am sure that is soon to come. Nibbles got his name honestly... He nibbled at my fingers when I first had him to let me know he was hungry.

When I am playing with diesel and I feel him latching on and biting harder I blow on his face and he stops and tilts his head and then squeals a little lol I don't know if I should be offended by that :sanp3 lol

Nope, they don't always. My first boy, :Love_Icon Grayson:Love_Icon , never bit or "wild up" and I had him until he was a year old [overwintered]. :)
My current babies are ` 10-11 weeks and haven't bitten me---but that might be a "yet"... Hoping they don't tho!! :D

Yes, Grayson was a singleton. :Love_Icon It probably does have to do with it -- I was his mommy and play buddy, but again, each has its own personality. Right now in my group of babies, there is one male that is a pip already. Two that are very sweet. :)
They're all different!

Some squirrels will bite if they're suddenly awakened from sleep, and i've got the marks to prove it. A panicked squirrel's bite is much worse than any other type of bite.
