? about magnolia cones and cactus pears for flyers

My neighbor has a magnolia tree with lots of cones it....some are still closed with a pinkish tint at the top and some are already opened, with lots of red seeds showing. Are both of these okay for my flyer? And if so, do I put the whole cone in his cage or just the seeds? Also, found prickly pear fruit at my local fruit market? Are these okay for flyers as well?

Yes, to both. My flyers went nuts over the magnolia cones! And have always loved pear cactus (take the skin off).
