Hi All:
Does anyone have links/photos of how to build outdoor release cages for Squirrel's?
I have my squirrel condo's but I need an official release cage to build out in the back 40 :)
Thanks

IF you cant get a cage built right away...... you can always use a good size Parrot Cage --Like I DID!!

How did you do this? did you just leave the cage out side on the ground? Did you use a nest box?

Yes, all of my outside release cages have a nest box in them and they are sitting on the ground under a tree for coverage. I leave the squirrels in the release for at least 30 days to allow them time to properly wild up with out having me around them constantly before I open a smaller entrance / exit door that allows the squirrels to leave the cage as the desire. Once the squirrel is released and if they return at any time I will continue to supplement their food with feedings from inside my house for up to a month, no longer..... this gives them time to acclimate to being wild and free with out starving.
